Bad Bunny’s ”Debí Tirar Más Fotos” debuted at No. 1 worldwide, making an instant and impactful connection with listeners. The song, featured on his latest album of the same name, quickly topped Spotify, TikTok, and Billboard charts shortly after its release Jan. 5.
The album pays homage to Puerto Rico. “At the peak of my career and popularity, I want to show the world who I am, who Benito Antonio is, and who Puerto Rico is,” Bad Bunny said in a press release. It incorporates a mix of genres such as salsa, dembow, reggaeton, and plena. What truly resonates with listeners is the raw emotion behind the artistry.
The song ”Debí Tirar Más Fotos” became a sensation on TikTok, with viewers using its chorus to share photos of past loved ones, reminisce about old times, or showcase images of their home countries. The chorus, “Debí tirar más fotos de cuando te tuve, Debí darte más beso' y abrazo' las vece' que pude,” translates to, “I should have taken more photos of when I had you, I should have given you more kisses and hugs whenever I could.”
Deepening the connection with fans, Bad Bunny engaged with their social media posts and even got emotional himself.
“Many times, when I want to express myself in a more political way, I do it in songs because it's the best way I can,” Bad Bunny
